ROLE PURPOSE

The aim is to state the overall significance of the job from the organization’s perspective.

To support the management, operation, and optimization of Elm’s server and virtualization infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments, ensuring high availability, stability, scalability, and operational resilience of critical production services. The role contributes to maintaining the organization’s core infrastructure platforms, reducing operational risks, enhancing service continuity, and supporting infrastructure modernization initiatives in alignment with Elm’s technology strategy and operational objectives.

Key Accountabilities

Key Activities

1. Server & Virtualization Infrastructure Management

• Administer and maintain physical servers, virtualized environments, and supporting infrastructure platforms.
• Ensure the availability, stability, and performance of production infrastructure environments.
• Execute infrastructure lifecycle activities including installation, configuration, upgrades, patch management, and system hardening.
• Monitor infrastructure capacity and recommend improvements to support business growth and service demand.

2. Data Center Operations Support

• Support day-to-day operations of data center infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
• Perform routine infrastructure health checks and proactively address operational issues.
• Coordinate maintenance activities and ensure adherence to operational procedures and standards.
• Contribute to maintaining a stable and resilient production environment.

3. Infrastructure Monitoring & Incident Management

• Monitor infrastructure services and respond to alerts, incidents, and service disruptions.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and perform root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
• Support incident, problem, and change management processes.
• Maintain operational records and ensure timely escalation of critical issues.

4. Cloud & Hybrid Infrastructure Support

• Support the administration and operation of cloud infrastructure services and hybrid environments.
• Assist in integrating cloud and on-premises platforms to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Monitor infrastructure utilization, performance, and service availability across environments.
• Participate in cloud enablement and infrastructure modernization initiatives.

5. Backup, Recovery & Data Protection Services

• Manage operations across on-premises and cloud infrastructure environments.
• Ensure proper utilization and performance of cloud resources.
• Support implementation of cloud-related initiatives and services.

6. Infrastructure Automation & Optimization

• Implement automation tools and scripts to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Support infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and standardization initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for performance tuning and infrastructure optimization.
• Contribute to continuous service improvement and operational excellence initiatives.

7. Infrastructure Governance & Compliance

• Ensure infrastructure operations comply with established technical standards and operational procedures.
• Support internal and external audit activities by providing required documentation and evidence.
• Assist in identifying and mitigating infrastructure-related risks.
• Maintain accurate infrastructure inventories, configurations, and operational documentation.

8. Technical Collaboration & Knowledge Transfer

• Collaborate with infrastructure, cybersecurity, applications, and operations teams to ensure service stability.
• Provide technical support for infrastructure-related projects and technology initiatives.
• Share technical knowledge, operational practices, and lessons learned with team members.
• Contribute to strengthening operational readiness and reducing dependency on single points of failure within the infrastructure environment.

9. Policies, Processes & Procedures

• Follow and enforce all relevant departmental policies, processes, and standard operating procedures.
• Ensure work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
• Comply with safety, quality, and environmental policies.

10. Information Security

• Ensure compliance with information security policies and standards.
• Maintain secure infrastructure environments and access controls.
• Support implementation of security controls and risk mitigation measures.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Academic and professional qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications in Microsoft, VMware, Cloud Platforms, Server Administration, Virtualization, or Infrastructure Technologies are preferred.

Years and Nature of Experience

• 4–6 years of experience in IT infrastructure, server administration, virtualization platforms, or data center operations.
