ROLE PURPOSE

The aim is to state the overall significance of the job from the organization’s perspective.

The role is responsible for leading and managing the Data Centers & Infrastructure Services Unit, ensuring the availability, resilience, security, and scalability of Elm’s on-premises and cloud infrastructure environments. The position oversees data center operations, server and AI infrastructure platforms, storage and backup services, and file synchronization capabilities while driving strategic initiatives, technology modernization programs, vendor management activities, and infrastructure governance to support business continuity, operational excellence, and organizational objectives.

Key Accountabilities

Key Activities

  1. Infrastructure Strategy & Leadership
  • Develop and execute the unit’s strategic roadmap aligned with Elm’s technology direction and business objectives.
  • Lead infrastructure modernization initiatives across on-premises and cloud environments.
  • Ensure alignment between infrastructure capabilities and organizational growth requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence programs.
  1. Data Center Operations Management
  • Direct and oversee all data center operations to ensure service availability and operational stability.
  • Ensure effective capacity planning, environmental controls, and operational readiness.
  • Monitor service performance and infrastructure reliability metrics.
  • Lead initiatives to improve operational efficiency and service quality.
  1. Servers, Virtualization & AI Infrastructure
  • Manage physical and virtual server environments and related platforms.
  • Oversee infrastructure supporting advanced workloads including AI environments.
  • Ensure systems performance, availability, and lifecycle management.
  •  Supervise implementation and maintenance activities.
  1. Storage, Backup & Data Protection
  • Oversee enterprise storage solutions including SAN, NAS, and cloud storage platforms.
  • Ensure robust backup, recovery, and disaster recovery capabilities.
  • Maintain data protection strategies, retention policies, and secure file synchronization services.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection and business continuity requirements.
  1. Cloud & Hybrid Infrastructure Management
  • Manage operations across on-premises and cloud infrastructure environments.
  • Ensure proper utilization and performance of cloud resources.
  • Support implementation of cloud-related initiatives and services.
  •  Ensure compliance with cloud governance and security requirements.
  1. Projects, Initiatives & Transformation
  • Lead execution of infrastructure-related projects and initiatives.
  • Ensure timely delivery within scope and operational requirements.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to support implementation activities.
  • Track progress and resolve issues impacting project delivery.
  1. Vendor, Contracts & Financial Management
  • Manage vendors providing infrastructure services and solutions.
  • Oversee contract execution and service delivery compliance.
  • Handle escalations and ensure resolution of vendor-related issues.
  • Support procurement processes and technical evaluations.
  1. Team Leadership & Capability Development
  • Lead and manage infrastructure teams across multiple functions.
  • Oversee team performance, workload distribution, and service delivery.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
  • Ensure team alignment with operational objectives and standards.
  1. Policies, Processes & Procedures
  • Follow and enforce all relevant departmental policies, processes, and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
  • Comply with safety, quality, and environmental policies.
  1. Information Security
  • Ensure compliance with information security policies and standards.
  • Maintain secure infrastructure environments and access controls.
  • Support implementation of security controls and risk mitigation measures.

 

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Academic and professional qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, TOGAF, Cloud, Data Center, or Infrastructure Management) are preferred.

Years and Nature of Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in IT Infrastructure or technology operations.
  • Experience in managing data centers, servers, storage, and cloud environments.
