ROLE PURPOSE

The aim is to state the overall significance of the job from the organization’s perspective.

The role is responsible for supporting the implementation and continuous enhancement of governance and compliance practices across the organization by monitoring adherence to regulatory requirements, conducting compliance assessments, managing compliance risks, and providing advisory support to stakeholders. The role contributes to maintaining effective governance standards and promoting a culture of compliance while ensuring alignment with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.

Key Accountabilities

Key Activities

  1. Governance & Compliance Framework Support
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of governance and compliance frameworks, methodologies, and controls.
  •  Assist in evaluating compliance with governance requirements and identifying areas for enhancement.
  •  Contribute to governance-related reviews, assessments, and initiatives across the organization.
  1. Regulatory Compliance Management
  • Monitor applicable laws, regulations, and regulatory developments impacting the organization.
  • Assess the impact of regulatory changes and communicate relevant updates to stakeholders.
  • Support business units in implementing compliance requirements and regulatory obligations.
  1. Compliance Monitoring & Reviews
  • Conduct compliance assessments and reviews to evaluate adherence to internal policies and external requirements.
  • Identify compliance gaps and document observations and recommendations.
  • Track corrective actions and support closure of compliance findings.
  1. Compliance Risk Assessment
  • Support the identification, assessment, and monitoring of compliance risks.
  • Maintain compliance risk registers and related documentation.
  • Assist in recommending preventive and mitigating controls to address identified risks.
  1. Policies, Procedures & Standards
  • Support the development, review, and update of compliance-related policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Ensure governance and compliance documentation reflects regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Promote consistent implementation of approved policies and procedures.
  1. Advisory & Stakeholder Coordination
  • Provide governance and compliance guidance to internal stakeholders within established frameworks.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments to facilitate compliance initiatives and requirements.
  • Support management in responding to compliance-related inquiries and requests.
  1. Reporting & Regulatory Coordination
  • Prepare periodic compliance reports, dashboards, and management updates.
  • Support responses to requests from regulatory and supervisory authorities.
  • Assist in preparing governance and compliance disclosures, submissions, and related documentation.
  1. Compliance Awareness & Continuous Improvement
  • Support the development and delivery of compliance awareness and communication initiatives.
  • Contribute to promoting ethical conduct and a strong compliance culture across the organization.
  • Identify opportunities to improve compliance processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.
  1. Policies, Processes & Procedures
  • Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
  •  Comply with all relevant safety, quality, and environmental management policies, procedures, and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.
  1. Information Security
  • Comply with all relevant information security practices and standards to ensure data integrity and confidentiality.

 

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Academic and professional qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in law, Business Administration, Governance, Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certifications are preferred, such as:

GRCP (Governance, Risk and Compliance Professional)

CCEP (Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional)

ICA, CRCM, or equivalent governance and compliance certifications.

Years and Nature of Experience

  • 4–6 years of relevant experience in Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC), Compliance Management, Internal Controls, Risk Management, Internal Audit, or related fields.
  • Experience in compliance monitoring, regulatory assessments, policy management, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Familiarity with governance principles, regulatory frameworks, and compliance best practices.
