ROLE PURPOSE

The aim is to state the overall significance of the job from the organization’s perspective.

To design, develop, and maintain high-performing web applications that enhance digital services within the Government Products ecosystem, ensuring optimal usability, scalability, security, and reliability across backend services built with Spring Boot and frontend applications built with Angular while supporting business growth and product innovation.

Key Accountabilities

Key Activities

1. Mobile Application Development

• Develop, test, and deploy web applications using Spring Boot for backend services and Angular for frontend applications.
• Ensure applications are optimized for performance, usability, and responsiveness.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code aligned with development standards.

2. Solution Design & Architecture

• Design scalable and secure web application architectures. 
• Contribute to technical design decisions and system integrations.
• Ensure compatibility across multiple devices and operating systems.

3. Product Enhancement & Innovation

• Identify opportunities to enhance existing applications with new features.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Contribute to improving user experience and functionality.

4. Integration & API Development

• Develop and integrate RESTful APIs, backend services, and frontend components to support end-to-end business capabilities.
• Ensure seamless communication between Angular frontend applications, Spring Boot backend services, and enterprise systems. 
• Maintain reliability and performance of integrations.

5. Testing & Quality Assurance

• Conduct unit testing, debugging, and troubleshooting. 
• Ensure high-quality releases through adherence to QA standards. 
• Participate in code reviews and enforce best practices.

6. Agile Delivery & Collaboration

• Work within Agile teams to deliver features iteratively and efficiently.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers.
• Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.

7. Performance Optimization

• Monitor and optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement continuous improvements.
• Ensure efficient memory usage and fast application response times.

8. Security & Compliance in Development

• implement secure coding practices to protect application data.
• Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory security requirements.
• Address vulnerabilities and maintain application security standards.

9. Policies, Processes & Procedures

• Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
• Comply with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment.

10. Information Security

• Comply with all relevant information security practices and standards to ensure data integrity and confidentiality.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Academic and professional qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications in Java, Spring Boot, Angular, cloud technologies, or software development are preferred.

Years and Nature of Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in fullstack application development. 
• Hands-on experience in backend development using Java and Spring Boot, including RESTful API development and service integration. 
• Hands-on experience in frontend development using Angular, including reusable components, responsive interfaces, and integration with backend APIs. 
• Familiarity with APIs, microservices, and Agile development practices.
