Senior Engineer Job

ROLE PURPOSE

The aim is to state the overall significance of the job from the organization’s perspective.

To protect Elm’s technology platforms by implementing and maintaining secure network infrastructure that defends against cyber threats and unauthorized access. This role is responsible for deploying firewalls, monitoring network traffic, conducting vulnerability assessments, and ensuring compliance with security best practices to maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems and data.

Key Accountabilities

Key Activities

1. Firewall and Security Control Management

• Configure, deploy, and maintain firewalls and network security devices.
• Apply and update access control lists and security policies based on defined standards.

2. Network Traffic Monitoring

• Monitor network activity to detect suspicious behavior or potential threats.
• Analyze logs and alerts to support timely incident detection and response.

3. Vulnerability Assessment and Remediation

• Conduct routine vulnerability scans and penetration tests on network infrastructure.
• Coordinate remediation efforts and validate security patch implementation.

4. Security Compliance and Reporting

• Ensure network security configurations comply with internal policies and external standards.
• Document findings, generate reports, and support audit readiness.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Academic and professional qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field
• MBA or equivalent post-graduate qualification is preferably

Years and Nature of Experience

• 2 - 4 years of relevant experience in a related industry
